Academics & Curricula

Excellence in Thinking

Alongside a rigorous academic curriculum, we aim to teach our students how to think, not what to think, and to think Biblically about everything! Cultivating critical thinking skills and encouraging a Biblical perspective in all aspects of learning. Interwoven on the pages of their schoolwork are verses from the Bible, God’s Word, so that they may “grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” We also endeavor to develop Christian character, conduct, and Biblical convictions in every student, so they will shine as lights in a dark world, and be able to give an answer for the hope that lies within them. (2 Peter 3:18, Philippians 2:15, 1 Peter 3:15)

We know the challenges of rearing children in the culture we live in. It’s why we love to partner with Christian parents in following the commands of Scripture to “Train up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6), and to obey the Scriptural imperatives of Deuteronomy 6:5-7a, “And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart. And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children.”

Christian training begins in the home, and is continued in the local church and the Christian school. At Tabernacle Christian School, we seek to assist parents in bringing up their children “in the nurture and admonition of the LORD.” (Ephesians 6:4)

Teach students how to think, not what to think, and to think Biblically about everything!

Accelerated Christian Education from the School of Tomorrow

Since 1981, Tabernacle Christian School has been using the time-tested, proven A.C.E. (Accelerated Christian Education) curriculum. Accelerated Christian Education’s concepts are based on the following Five Basic Laws of Learning:

  • Each child must be at a level where he/she can perform

  • Each child must have reasonable goals

  • Learning must be controlled, and he/she must be motivated

  • Learning must be measurable

  • Learning must be rewarded

Based on these principles, the A.C.E. curriculum assures parents of:

  • A solid, mastery-based, back-to-basics education for their child

  • A course of study diagnostically individualized to meet a student’s specific learning needs and capabilities

  • A program incorporating Scripture, Godly character building, and wisdom principles.

Individualized Instruction by Diagnostic Testing

To test your child online, see the Accelerated Christian Education’s diagnostic testing in Math, English, Reading and Spelling

The four academic areas tested include:

  • Math (Levels 1–9)

  • English (Levels 1–8)

  • Reading comprehension for science, social studies, Bible Reading, and Literature and Creative Writing (Levels 1–8)

  • Spelling (Levels 2–9)

NOTE: Students who are ready to enter Kindergarten or Level 1 should not take this test. Use the ABCs Pretest to determine which reading program is appropriate for these students.
